Home and Office Move Support

Home and Office Move Support

Although moving house or office can be a daunting prospect, there are many steps that can be taken in advance to keep things running as smoothly as possible to achieve minimal disruption. I can plan all of the logistics of your move and support throughout.

Case Study

The brief: This office move involved downsizing from a large office in Chiswick which had previously accommodated 35 staff members, to a smaller office in a Kensington mews house. I was required to put together a plan and organise the following…

  • Make a complete inventory of furniture and office items deciding what to move, sell, store, archive, donate to charity or designate as waste removal.
  • Meet with removal companies to work out who offers best package and price, contract them and commit to move date.
  • Liaise with new tenants moving into old office and negotiate the sale of certain furniture and equipment to them.
  • Working towards move date, have company meeting to ensure all staff are aware of what to do with everything they are packing.
  • Recruit additional freelance staff to assist with the logging of everything going into archive and box packing.
  • Arrange facilities for new office and discontinuing facilities at old office (phone, IT, WiFi, business rates, etc).
  • Allocate staff positions and create floor plan for removal company to assist with arrangement of furniture.
  • Nearer to move date ensure packing plan is defined and staff are all on board with their specific responsibilities, once packing boxes are delivered.
  • Arrange delivery of archive boxes to warehouse.
  • Arrange skip to pick up all waste.
  • Point of contact on move date, and organise transfer of keys to new tenants.
  • Organise final clean.
  • Ensure all furniture, phones, IT, etc, set up and in place ready for staff at new office.

I ensured that all eventualities were planned for well in advance of the move date, so the move itself was quick, efficient and resulted in minimum disruption for the staff and business.

A few words from a client

"

Jo comes into her own when it comes to office relocations. She oversaw three office moves during our working relationship at Independiente, each one having its own unique challenges – whether it was downsizing, finding a new location or troubleshooting utility provision.

She has the skill of being able to prioritise the essentials and pinpoint accuracy in ensuring that all goes smoothly and to plan, so that on entering your new office space, it is set up ready to go with no issues – whether that’s in terms of facilitating internet connection and finding IT solutions, or having the makings for a cup of tea to hand! Her capabilities are extensive and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
